Eddie Bauer
EBTEK Capsule
90s throwback meets modern performance in this revival campaign for Eddie Bauer's EBTEK line.
This collab brought back the iconic EBTEK label with a fresh twist—anchored in archival visual language, motion, and multimedia storytelling. I helped bring the campaign to life by designing and building the page in CMS, incorporating custom parallax effects and animation. A hero video created by our internal video team set the tone for a campaign that blended retro attitude with modern polish.
My Role
Designed and built full campaign page in CMS
Built motion into the scroll to add visual depth—taking cues from 90s design language like offset grids, bold overlays, and layered layouts.
Integrated team-produced hero video and animation assets
Worked with Creative Director on layout strategy and timing of motion
Balanced nostalgia with responsiveness and performance requirements
Challenge:
The campaign had to tap into a specific aesthetic memory—90s tech-core meets streetwear—without looking outdated or gimmicky. The CMS limited layout behavior, and media performance (video, animation) had to be optimized without breaking the retro tone.
Solution:
I used custom CSS and parallax to build a layered scroll effect that nodded to analog motion and early digital design. Embedded video and animated segments were timed to create moments of “pause and play” in the scroll. Typography and grid structure took cues from legacy EBTEK catalogs and techwear ad layouts.
