Vintage shop

  • Vintage Shop is a limited-edition concept exploring how Eddie Bauer’s archive could become a modern, collectible retail experience. Inspired by heritage programs like Brooks Brothers’ Vintage Shop, the idea centered on hand-selected, authenticated pieces spanning decades of Eddie Bauer history—treated not as nostalgia, but as design-forward artifacts.

Each piece was positioned as a story: from original materials and construction details to the era it came from. The packaging, identity, and printed materials were designed to feel intentional and archival, bridging mid-century outdoor history with contemporary retail sensibilities. The result was a concept that celebrated longevity, craft, and the emotional value of worn-in design.

  • I led the concept, visual identity, and print execution for the Vintage Shop, developing the logo system, packaging design, and supporting printed materials. I explored multiple directions rooted in Eddie Bauer’s archival logos, catalogs, and photography—balancing authenticity with a clean, modern presentation.

From initial iterations through final production-ready layouts, I designed the unboxing experience to feel curated and collectible, including the authenticity card and informational inserts. This project allowed me to work across research, brand storytelling, and physical execution—translating heritage into a tangible experience that could easily extend into digital, retail, or campaign environments.

Final concept

This project was so fun to do as it allowed me to dig through years of old Eddie Bauer catalogs, going all the way back to the 30’s. It was a reminder of how cool it is to be able to work for a brand with such a rich history of innovation and exceptionalism.

Iterations

This phase focused on exploring how Eddie Bauer’s archival identity could flex across eras without feeling nostalgic or costume-y. I tested logo marks, typography, and layout systems pulled from historic catalogs and advertising, refining toward a direction that felt grounded, modern, and scalable across packaging and print applications.

Early explorations prioritized authenticity; later iterations focused on clarity, hierarchy, and collectibility—ensuring the system could feel curated rather than retro.

Deliverables

The piece comes in this box with a authenticity card with handwritten item, description, and year of it’s production.
